Amelia made her way to the restaurant. She looked around and couldn’t see her next date. Soon she was tapped on the shoulder. Amelia turned around to see the hostess “Are you Amelia Carter?” She asked smiling. “Yes I am.” “Follow me Finn Kealoha is already waiting at the table for you.” the hostess said before turning on her heels and walking up the stairs. Amelia quickly followed behind. The hostess stopped and pointed to a table a few feet away. “There is your table and your date. I hope you enjoy your meal.” She said before rushing back to her podium. Amelia made her way slowly to the table and sat down. Finn looked up from his menu and smiled. “I’m Finn nice to meet you.” “It’s nice to meet you too I”m Amelia.” She said with a small smile.
Finn didn’t say a word just kept staring at her. Amelia finally spoke” Are we having a staring contest or are you not much of a talker.”
Finn laughed and shook his head “No I’m a talker and we aren’t having a staring contest. I’m just shocked you look stunning. I’ve had 4 other dates today and they all ended badly. I just thought I might be dreaming”
“Well aren’t you a charmer. You aren’t alone. I’ve had two other horrible dates. I highly doubt the dates were bad I bet women fawn all over you.”
“Yes they do but they only do it for my looks most don’t attempt to get to know me. Also my first date today consisted of a women talking non-stop about our wedding and what our children would look like.”
Amelia busted out laughing ” Truth be told I only joined the dating site due to my friend Nalani pressuring me to. I was about to give up but decided to attend all three of the dates. If this one ends badly I’m becoming a hermit.”
“So far I think it is going well..” Finn was interrupted by the waiter coming to take their orders. After the food was ordered. Finn and Amelia spent the evening talking about their lives. Finn had grown up on the island his whole life and Amelia even knew his twin brother Makoa. He works with her at the conservation center. Before they knew it the bill had arrived and it was time to say goodbye.
Amelia wasn’t normally a girl to kiss on the first date but she needed to know if they had any chemistry. So when it was time to say good bye she planted a kiss. Finn was shocked by the forwardness but felt the same spark Amelia did. They left the restaurant with plans to have a second date. Amelia went home and curled up in bed with a smile on her face. Maybe that dating app wasn’t a waste of time after all.
