Train Wreck

Amelia woke with a pounding headache the next day. She made a mental note not to drink that many drinks. She took some pain medicine and glanced at her phone. “Shit!” Amelia screamed as she realized the Dating app had her scheduled for three dates and the first one was at the restaurant in town in 20 minutes. She threw on some makeup and a nice dress and headed out the door. Her first date was Gavin Richards. The app said he would be wearing a brown suit. Once she arrived he glanced her way and dashed in to the bathroom. She stood outside the door and waited for 15 minutes before knocking. “Are you ok in there? I’m Amelia your blind date.” Gavin didn’t respond but he did open the door and motion for her to come in. She step in the bathroom and kept the door open thinking to herself “Great my frist date and he is a nutcase. I’m going to kick Nalani when I see her.”

“Hello Gavin everything okay. You ready to go grab a bite to eat?” Amelia said smiling nervously.

Gavin looked her up and down and said” I think not. First off you have shark teeth and tattoos. No respectable women would have tattoos. I dashed in here hoping you would get the hint but I guess you aren’t that smart”

At this point Amelia’s blood was boiling. How dare he insult her before getting to know her. Yes her teeth were not like his but that wasn’t her fault. No matter what forms she took her teeth remained the same. It was that way with all of her family members. She was half tempted to lure him into the ocean and drown him.

“Hello, can you hear or are you deaf?” Gavin said waving his hands in her face bringing Amelia back to reality.

“No I’m not deaf. I was just thinking of the ways I could dispose of your body for no one to find.” Amelia said smiling wide enough to show her teeth. Gavin’s face twisted in to a look of horror as Amelia started laughing. “Just what I thought you are as spineless as a jelly fish. You aren’t worth my time.” Amelia scoffed as she headed out the door. Amelia looked at her phone and realized she had time to kill before her next date. She decided to explore parts of the ocean while she waited.

Amelia swam to the next location which was an island bar. She kept her fingers crossed that this date would be more enjoyable. Though a feeling in her gut told her it would not end well.

She arrived to find her date Akira Kibo chatting up another lady in the bar. Amelia attempted multiple times to get his attention but he waved her off saying “I found something better.” Amelia hung her head and headed for the bar to order some food. She hadn’t eaten all day and was starving.

Amelia ate her meat and cheese platter as she wallowed in self pity thinking to herself “This is why I don’t do blind dates. They all end horrible. I swear I’m going to strangle Nalani when I see her.” Her phone dinged with a reminder that her next date was in 2 hours at the restaurant for dinner. Amelia was half tempted to say fuck this shit and head home and curl up with a bowl of ice cream but like they always say third times a charm. She decided if this date didn’t pan out that she would delete the app and find her soulmate the old fashion way.
